It is currently a big fashion trend to wear neon bras under sheer white T-shirts. But Ashlee Simpson gave the style a bit of a grungy twist today as she was spotted out in New York City. The 27-year-old revealed her black bra under a loose top as she made her way to the airport with her three-year-old son Bronx.

The singer was seen leaving her Manhattan apartment, also with boyfriend, Boardwalk Empire star Vincent Piazza, who helped carry her large Louis Vuitton suitcase. Ashlee was jetting out of the Big Apple to Los Angeles, where Bronx's father and her ex-husband Pete Wentz lives with girlfriend Meagan Camper. She may have also been going on the trip to visit her big sister Jessica and her new baby niece Maxwell.

The blonde paired her cheeky attire with some washed out black jeans, which displayed her very slim pins. Both Ashlee's sheer top and jeans come from Anine Bing's self-titled clothing label. Bing is Sweden's best known supermodel and now the creator of her brand new fashion line. The younger Simpson wore cream Converse Chucks on her feet and accessorised with some aviator sunglasses.

Meanwhile, Bronx emulated his mother's grungy style in a T-shirt featuring a record player print and black trousers. Upon arriving at LAX airport later in the evening, Ashlee cradled her toddler as they made their way through the terminal. She had changed into a pair of comfy baggy trousers and some multi-coloured high-top sneakers. Piazza appeared not to have joined the pair and stayed behind in Manhattan.
